Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Buying, selling, or maintaining a home? We know you may have questions, and we're here to help!
We've answered some of the most frequently asked questions about our home inspection services, reports, pricing, and more to help you make informed decisions with confidence.
1. How much does a home inspection cost?
The cost depends on the home’s size, age, and the services requested. Contact Greenwood with the property details for a personalized quote.
2. How soon will I receive my inspection report?
You’ll receive your digital home inspection report the same day, with photos and clear explanations. Mold and water laboratory results are provided separately when available.
3. Do I need a home inspection for new construction?
Yes. Even newly built homes can have installation problems or unfinished work. An independent inspection helps identify visible concerns you can discuss with your builder.
4. Are home inspections only for people buying a home?
No! We also offer pre-listing, maintenance and safety, pre-drywall, and 11-month warranty inspections. These services help sellers and homeowners understand the property’s condition and plan their next steps.
5. Do I have to attend the inspection?
You do not have to attend, provided access has been arranged. If you would like to be there, let us know when scheduling so we can coordinate your visit and time to discuss the findings.
6. How long does a home inspection take?
The time varies depending on the home’s size, age, condition, and accessibility, as well as any additional services. We’ll provide an estimated duration when you book.
7. Does Greenwood offer sewer scope inspections?
Yes! We offer sewer scope inspections as an additional service. A specialized camera examines accessible portions of the drain line for visible concerns such as roots, blockages, cracks, and deterioration.
8. What kind of mold testing does Greenwood offer?
Greenwood offers mold testing as an additional service. Contact us to discuss your concerns so we can confirm the sampling options, laboratory turnaround time, and pricing for your property.
9. What does a home inspection include?
We evaluate visible, accessible components of the roof, exterior, foundation, structure, attic, crawlspace, electrical, plumbing, and heating and cooling systems. The scope depends on the service booked and conditions at the property. Sewer scopes, mold testing, and water testing are separate services.
10. Can I ask questions after receiving my report?
Absolutely! Brian is happy to explain the findings and recommendations so you understand your report and feel confident about your next steps.
